Job Description

A well-established law firm in Hickory, NC is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 6 years of experience to join its team. This is a full-time, in-office position (5 days per week) offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Salary: $100,000 – $130,000, depending on experience (candidates outside this range are also encouraged to apply)

 

Location Requirement: Must relocate to Hickory, NC before starting work

 

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters, including trials, hearings, and mediations
  • Prepare for and argue motions, take cases to trial, and negotiate settlements
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw or similar platforms
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Interview witnesses and take depositions
  • Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to prepare cases for trial
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina
  • Minimum 6 years of litigation experience
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
