A well-established and growing commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong estimating experience who can manage projects from initial bid through award while working closely with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, and ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects
- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals and pricing
- Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and scope gaps
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations throughout the preconstruction process
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners
- Assist with value engineering and project budgeting
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong experience with hard-bid estimating preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and costs
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
