Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MDS Nurse to join our team. The MDS Nurse is responsible for completing and coordinating the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate reimbursement, quality care planning, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and coordinate MDS assessments and care planning in accordance with CMS guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all MDS documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
  • Monitor changes in residents' conditions and update assessments accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations regarding MDS and RAI processes.
  • Provide education and support to nursing staff regarding MDS documentation and best practices.
  • Review and analyze data to ensure accuracy in coding and reimbursement.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care and facility performance.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN in Iowa
  • Prior experience with MDS 3.0 and RAI process preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and MDS software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams and regulatory agencies.
