Purchasing Manager
(Structural Steel Fabrication)

A structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabricator is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team. As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials necessary for our structural steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to determine material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Background in steel fabrication, with experience in a steel supplier or steel/metals sales role.
  • Strong understanding of the structural steel fabrication industry and its procurement processes.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with StruMIS, Fabtrol, or Fabsuite software is highly preferred.
