Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team in Kansas City. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff, helping ensure smooth operations of the office. This role involves a variety of clerical, organizational, and legal support tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Assist with filing and maintaining legal documents, both physical and electronic.
  • Organize and manage case files, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting legal filings with courts and other governmental agencies.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence on behalf of the legal team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow legal protocols for handling sensitive information.
  • Prepare client invoices, time entries, and track billable hours.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the legal team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in a legal administrative or assistant role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with legal software and document management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document preparation is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
