Job Title: Detailer / Project Manager – Miscellaneous Metals
Position Overview:
A top-tier miscellaneous metals fabricator partnered with gpac is seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Metals Detailer who is ready to grow into (or already possesses) Project Management responsibilities. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who wants to see their designs through fabrication and installation by taking full ownership of the project lifecycle.
Role Summary:
This position blends technical detailing with project oversight. The selected candidate will produce shop and field drawings for a variety of miscellaneous metal components—such as stairs, railings, ladders, canopies, and ornamental metals—and manage the project through fabrication, delivery, and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Detailing Responsibilities:
Create detailed fabrication and erection drawings for stairs, railings, embeds, ladders, grating, and architectural metals
Utilize AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla, or other 3D modeling software to generate precise models and drawings
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and general contractors to resolve design issues
Ensure all drawings adhere to industry codes, customer specs, and internal standards
Review and revise drawings based on client or engineering feedback
Project Management Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for assigned projects post-detailing
Track and manage schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and deliveries
Coordinate with fabrication shops and field crews to ensure timely execution
Attend jobsite meetings and perform field measurements or site visits as needed
Proactively address project challenges and maintain strong client relationships
Required Qualifications:
3–7 years of experience detailing miscellaneous metals
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla, or similar software
Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes for miscellaneous metals
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
Excellent communication and time management skills
Willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously and take initiative
