A highly respected and established General Contractor based in the Rockford area is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. This firm is known for its quality craftsmanship, diverse commercial portfolio, and long-standing relationships with clients across the Midwest.

About the Role
The Senior Estimator will lead the estimating process for commercial construction projects, from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission. This position plays a vital role in supporting preconstruction strategy, mentoring junior estimators, and ensuring accurate, competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial projects of varying size and complexity.
Review plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive bids.
Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze subcontractor/supplier proposals.
Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction.
Participate in client and design meetings to provide cost input and value engineering options.
Support ongoing improvements to estimating processes and systems.
Qualifications
7+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
Proven track record on ground-up and renovation projects across sectors such as industrial, healthcare, education, and corporate/commercial.
Proficiency in Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and related estimating software.
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and market pricing.
Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
