About

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Paralegal to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in catastrophic loss cases across various sectors, including construction, industrial accidents, products liability, fires and explosions, trucking and automobile accidents, premises liability, environmental contamination, maritime/admiralty actions, commercial transactions, and medical/professional malpractice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in managing complex insurance defense cases involving catastrophic losses. 
  • Prepare and organize legal documents, briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials. 
  • Conduct factual and legal research related to construction defects, industrial accidents, and other liability claims. 
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts, including scheduling and communication. 
  • Manage case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with procedural requirements. 
  • Assist with trial preparation and attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed. 
  • Review insurance policies, claims history, and relevant documentation to support case strategies. 
  • Track and analyze damages, loss reports, and expert reports across various types of catastrophic incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited program. 
  • Proven experience in insurance defense law, specifically with catastrophic loss cases. 
  • Strong knowledge of construction law, industrial safety, products liability, and related fields. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex, high-stakes legal matters. 
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working with construction companies, manufacturing firms, or maritime clients. 
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and remediation practices. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
