A highly respected, long-standing commercial construction firm in the Pittsburgh market is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. This company is known for its strong client relationships, impressive repeat business, and a portfolio that spans healthcare, education, commercial, institutional, and corporate projects across Western Pennsylvania.
As a Senior Estimator, you’ll play a key role in early project strategy—leading conceptual budgeting, detailed cost estimating, value engineering, subcontractor engagement, and GMP development. You’ll work closely with project teams, architects, and clients to ensure accurate scopes, competitive pricing, and a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial and institutional projects
• Lead bid strategy, subcontractor outreach, scope reviews, and buyout coordination
• Produce accurate budgets, quantity takeoffs, and cost models
• Manage value engineering exercises and collaborate on design-phase solutions
• Present estimates and recommendations to internal leadership and clients
• Mentor junior estimators and help elevate the preconstruction process
What You Bring:
• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator in commercial construction
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, CM/GC delivery, and negotiated work
• Competency with industry-standard software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and bid dates with accuracy
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with owners, A/E teams, and subs
• Experience in healthcare, education, corporate interiors, or ground-up commercial projects preferred
