Job Description

An established and respected operation is seeking a driven and experienced Feed Mill Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of a single feed mill facility. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of feed production, plant maintenance, staff leadership, inventory control, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, leadership ability, and a background in feed mill or ag manufacturing operations.

Located in MN - 90 miles northwest of Mankato

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee grinding, batching, pelleting, bin management, and loadout operations

  • Ensure feed quality control processes are completed and documented

  • Manage ingredient inventory, purchasing, and formula tracking

  • Partner with maintenance on preventative maintenance programs and equipment repairs

  • Maintain plant cleanliness and safe working conditions

  • Support corn drying and corn piling during harvest

  • Submit samples to labs and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines

  • Supervise and schedule staff; lead training and development efforts

  • Conduct performance reviews and enforce accountability on production and safety

  • Assist with budgeting and cost control in collaboration with maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Science, or equivalent experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in feed mill operations or ag manufacturing

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of feed mill equipment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling/inventory systems

  • Class D license required; Class A CDL preferred but not required

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
