Job Description

A fabricator and erector of structural and miscellaneous steel in the East Bay and Northern California is hiring an Estimator. In this seat you'll price steel packages from fabrication through erection for light commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with project managers, the shop, and field crews on constructability and smooth project handoff
• Write competitive bids and proposals for light commercial, residential, and industrial projects
• Read plans and specifications closely to find scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering ideas
• Run quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection
• Request, compare, and evaluate quotes for detailing, erection, coatings, and freight

Requirements:

• Experience estimating steel for both fabrication and erection
• Comfort reading blueprints
• Knowledge of structural and miscellaneous metals packages
• Bonus: Tekla EPM, SDS2, or comparable estimating software
