Residential Superintendent – High-End Custom Homes & Remodels

Location: Northwest Suburbs of Chicago Employment Type: Full-Time (Flexible Schedule)

About the Company: We are a well-established custom home builder and luxury remodeler serving the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our team specializes in architect-driven residential projects, high-quality craftsmanship, and exceptional client experiences. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Residential Superintendent to join our team.

Position Overview: The Residential Superintendent will oversee day-to-day site operations for high-end custom home builds and luxury remodels. This person will be the on-site leader ensuring quality workmanship, safe job sites, and smooth coordination between trades, clients, and project managers. This role offers a highly flexible schedule and the opportunity to manage premium residential projects with a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on-site construction activities for custom homes and luxury remodels
• Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site labor
• Conduct site walkthroughs, inspections, and quality control checks
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, designers, and internal team members
• Manage job site safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Identify and resolve issues proactively to keep projects moving smoothly
• Track daily progress and provide updates to the Project Manager

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of residential construction experience, with a strong portfolio of high-end remodels and/or custom homes
• Proven background as a Superintendent or Lead Carpenter running job sites
• Strong understanding of luxury finishes, architectural details, and complex remodel sequencing
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Tech-savvy with experience using project management or construction software (Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or similar)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple moving parts
• Comfortable working independently with a flexible, self-managed schedule
