Civil Litigation Attorney

Location: Durham, North Carolina

Summary:

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team across North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex civil litigation matters relating to personal injury, civil rights, employment law, and/or insurance law from inception through trial or resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of civil litigation including investigation, pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.

  • Draft and respond to complaints, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.

  • Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice to clients on case strategy and risk assessment.

  • Attend depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Active and in good standing with the North Carolina Bar.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in civil litigation; trial experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of North Carolina rules of civil procedure, court systems, and litigation processes.

  • Proven ability to handle a high-volume caseload independently and efficiently.

Preferred Experience Areas:

  • Personal injury, Employment law, Insurance defense or coverage disputes, Real estate or landlord-tenant disputes, Civil Rights

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $120,000 - $160,000 per year, with bonus potential
