Tax Manager

Location: Vandalia, OH

Overview

A Dayton-area CPA firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to take ownership of client relationships and engagements, provide technical review and tax planning and lead staff development. You will serve closely held businesses and individuals, working closely with the partners. Hybrid scheduling may be available.

Responsibilities

• Review complex federal, state and local income tax returns for businesses and individuals
• Manage a portfolio of client engagements, including planning, workflow, deadlines, budgets and communication
• Serve as a primary client contact and identify tax planning and advisory opportunities
• Lead tax research, projections and consulting; assist with estate and gift tax matters
• Delegate, review and coach supervisors, seniors and staff
• Coordinate with partners on complex matters and process improvements
• Maintain workpaper, documentation and quality control standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or related field
• Active CPA license
• 5+ years of recent tax experience in public accounting, including substantial review responsibility
• Strong business and individual income tax experience, including pass-through entities and closely held businesses
• Experience mentoring staff and providing technical feedback
• Strong research, analytical and communication skills; proficiency in Excel
• Multi-state, estate and trust or transaction experience preferred
