Job Title: Structural Steel Estimator (Tekla Estimodeling Experience)
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Steel Estimator with hands-on Tekla Estimodeling experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate takeoffs, budgets, and bids for structural steel projects while utilizing Tekla to generate models that improve estimating accuracy and project planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for structural steel fabrication and erection.
Utilize Tekla Estimodeling to create preliminary models and extract accurate material quantities.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and identify cost impacts.
Solicit, analyze, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns for both negotiated and competitive projects.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and detailers to ensure estimates align with fabrication and erection capabilities.
Participate in value engineering and alternative design review discussions.
Maintain an organized database of pricing, production rates, and historical project cost information.
Qualifications:
Proven experience estimating structural steel projects.
Tekla Estimodeling proficiency required.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection methods, and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, 3D models, and connection details.
Excellent analytical, math, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
