A well-respected client in the area is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our on-site team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a professional environment and enjoys working in a collaborative, client-focused setting.

Position Summary: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and ensuring compliance with payroll tax and sales tax regulations. This individual will work closely with both internal staff and clients, managing multiple accounts with precision and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely payroll for multiple clients

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns

  • Manage sales tax filings and ensure compliance across jurisdictions

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records

  • Assist with year-end processes including W-2 and 1099 preparation

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding payroll and tax issues

  • Coordinate with accounting and tax teams to ensure seamless service delivery

  • Stay informed of changes in payroll and tax legislation affecting clients

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in payroll processing and payroll tax compliance

  • Working knowledge of payroll and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll and sales tax regulations

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
