Heavy Civil Superintendent
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven background overseeing roadway, bridge, utility, and site development work, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, concrete, utilities, grading, paving, and structures.
- Lead, mentor, and manage field crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors to ensure alignment on plans, specifications, and project schedule.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure all work complies with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Develop and manage daily/weekly work plans, schedules, and manpower forecasts.
- Monitor quality control, ensuring all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide solutions to maintain productivity and progress.
- Oversee installation of underground utilities, drainage systems, roadway construction, and structural concrete.
- Conduct daily jobsite reports, documentation, inspections, and progress updates.
- Interface with owners, DOT representatives, municipalities, and third-party stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction supervision.
- Strong background in roadway, bridge, site development, utilities, and/or DOT work.
- Proven ability to manage crews and subcontractors on complex, fast-paced projects.
- Solid understanding of civil construction plans, specifications, and sequencing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to track production, manage schedules, and maintain project documentation.
