Job Description

CNC Programmer

Overview: Join a legacy tooling organization with over a century of manufacturing excellence, specializing in injection molding and precision machining.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam for both small and large plastic injection molds.
  • Translate engineering drawings and specifications into efficient CNC routines to machine molds, dies, and related tooling.
  • Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and machining teams to ensure optimal setup, tool paths, cycle times, and accuracy.
  • Conduct program simulations and dry-runs to verify tool paths, correct errors, and minimize scrap.
  • Support mold repair and revisions, including reprogramming as needed to accommodate design or material changes.
  • Monitor CNC operations, adjust feeds and speeds, and make tooling recommendations to maintain quality and throughput.
  • Document program revisions, tooling data, and cycle-time improvements for shop-wide knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Mastercam is required, with proven experience in generating 3 & 5‑axis toolpaths for complex mold components.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, G‑code, feeds, speeds, and machine kinematics.
  • Experience working in injection mold making, die/mold repair, or contract machining is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, perform basic calculations, and apply GD&T principles.
  • Detail‑oriented, strong problem‑solver with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and a commitment to workmanship and precision.

Why This Role Matters:

  • Play a key role in a full-service mold making facility, helping take tooling from design to mold sampling in-house.
  • Work on a diverse mix of projects, from new mold builds to complex revisions and texturing.
  • Be part of a mid-sized team (50+ employees, ~45,000 sqft facility) that values both craftsmanship and innovation.
  • Contribute to a company that has stood the test of time by maintaining quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service.
