Job Description

Gpac is partnering with a locally owned and operated food manufacturer in the area that has been thriving for over 60 years. They are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead their department, overseeing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting, while also managing projects in a fast-paced environment. This role also involves working closely with leadership and managing a dedicated team. This is a unique chance to join a company with a strong culture and a stable presence in the beef industry.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair and maintain equipment throughout facility
  • Lead/schedule team of 5 personnel with daily tasks
  • Utilize maintenance software: MaintainX
  • Assist with startup/take down of equipment
  • Learn and operate all machinery
  • Work alongside production manager to maintain efficiency
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings
  • Design, fabricate and install equipment as required
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed
  • Monitor equipment while in operation, making adjustments as necessary
  • Assist in training new and junior mechanics
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Work’s independently and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience; performs duties within scope and authority and training, and in compliance with safety and sanitation practices for commercial food preparation and storage
  • Sets up and starts equipment; inspects and tests equipment to verify proper operations; makes adjustments as need to assure error-free operations; assists with cleaning equipment
  • Recognizes abnormally operating equipment and uses troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment problems; maintains log of equipment repairs and problems and identifies cost-effective solutions; makes all necessary equipment move in a timely and efficient manner
  • 5S, shadow board and center line all equipment
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA rules and regulations are preferred

Qualification requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintain a positive attitude
  • Punctual, dependable and reliable
  • Computer knowledge is preferred
