Job Description

Because of their continued growth, a General Contractor in the South Seattle (Tacoma) Area is seeking an Field Engineer - Commercial Construction Ground-up to join their team. The Field Engineer duties include inspecting and installing equipment and new technologies, directing crews or workers on site, conducting research, and reporting on project status. Field engineers will make sure that everything works smoothly and blueprints are being followed.

 

Field Engineer QUALIFICATIONS:

4 Year Degree in Construction Management or Similar OR with relevant experience as Field Engineer/Assistant Superintnendent in Commercial CONSTRUCTION

1-3 years expereince in the commercial construction industry as a Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent

Familiarity with construction industry computer software

 

Key Responsibilities of a Field Engineer Include:

  • Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
  • Conduct research and studies on site
  • Manage field activities and implement blueprints
  • Diagnose construction or machinery problems
  • Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise
  • Oversee repairs and technical improvements
  • Install new systems and technology
  • Inspect and test material and machinery for safety
  • Ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment
  • Supervise and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians)
  • Draft and submit reports
