A well-established law firm in Livonia, Michigan that provides a wide range of legal services to businesses of all sizes is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Law Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join our team.

As a Business Law Attorney, you will work closely with clients to provide legal advice and representation in various business law matters. You will assist with corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and review, business disputes, and other related areas of business law. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Michigan business law, excellent communication skills, and a practical, solution-oriented approach to client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a wide range of business law issues, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, business formations, and compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate business contracts, including purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Represent clients in business disputes, including breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and commercial litigation.
  • Assist in the structuring and negotiation of mergers, acquisitions, and business transactions.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and industry-specific laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to develop practical solutions to business challenges.
  • Stay current on developments in business law, particularly within Michigan, and advise clients accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering proactive legal advice and responding promptly to client needs.
  • Prepare legal documents and filings required for business-related transactions and disputes.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing business law, including corporate governance, contracts, and business transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of Michigan business law and regulations.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and commercial disputes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Client-focused with a practical, solution-driven approach to legal services.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other attorneys and staff.
