About the Role: A highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a skilled and client-focused Estate Planning Attorney with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its Portland office. This is an opportunity to grow your career in a collegial, team-oriented environment while working on sophisticated estate planning and wealth preservation matters for individuals, families, and closely held businesses.
Responsibilities:
Draft wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives.
Provide strategic guidance on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning.
Advise clients on charitable giving, business succession planning, and asset protection.
Collaborate with fiduciaries, financial advisors, and tax professionals to implement estate and wealth transfer plans.
Support clients through probate and trust administration processes, including court filings and beneficiary communication.
Conduct legal research and stay current on state and federal tax and estate laws.
Qualifications:
4–7 years of experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related tax matters.
Strong understanding of Oregon probate code and estate/gift tax regulations.
LL.M. in Taxation or CPA background is preferred but not required.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage long-term client relationships.
Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
Must be licensed to practice in Oregon; Washington Bar membership is a plus.
