We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator with experience in commercial HVAC systems to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed HVAC estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for ductwork, piping, equipment.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Prepare and present bid proposals in coordination with leadership.
- Conduct job walks and attend pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
- Assist in value engineering and scope development during design/build and negotiated projects.
- Identify risk factors, material constraints, and constructability issues within the scope of HVAC.
- Support change order pricing and estimating for ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC/mechanical estimating (commercial construction preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including ductwork, Refrigerant piping, and controls
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PDF markup tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Experience with design-build and plan-spec projects is a plus
