Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician with a strong background servicing and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on a variety of equipment and systems across complex commercial facilities.
This position will work in a variety of environments, diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and helping ensure HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and chilled water systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-related issues.
- Work with a variety of chiller systems and associated HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot and service:
- Air-cooled package chillers
- Centrifugal chillers
- Screw chillers
- Pumps and hydronic systems
- Air-handling equipment
- Related HVAC controls and components
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Read and interpret equipment documentation, wiring diagrams, and system information.
- Communicate effectively with customers, facility personnel, and other members of the service team.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate work performed and recommended repairs.
- Follow applicable safety procedures and industry standards.
Typical Work Environments
Technicians may service HVAC systems in a variety of facilities, including:
- Commercial office buildings
- Hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Industrial facilities
- Data Centers
- Manufacturing facilities
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience (no residential).
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, and mechanical components.
- Demonstrated experience servicing and troubleshooting package units, VRF/VRV, air- & water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, etc.
- Familiarity with HVAC control components and system operation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable motor vehicle requirements.
