Position Overview:
The Fabrication Manager will oversee daily operations in our fabrication facility, manage a team of skilled fabricators and technicians, and ensure that all work meets project specifications, deadlines, and safety standards. This individual will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and workflow management in the glazing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety
Supervise and support fabrication staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
Coordinate with project managers, engineering, and field teams to ensure accurate production per drawings/specifications
Monitor material inventory, order supplies, and track usage to minimize waste
Maintain and enforce shop safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and recommend process improvements
Implement and oversee quality control procedures throughout the fabrication process
Ensure on-time delivery of fabricated materials to job sites
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
Strong background in glass, glazing systems, curtain wall, storefront, or architectural metal preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings
Proficient with fabrication tools, machinery, and production processes
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Experience with ERP or production management software is a plus
