  • Work closely with the Truss Production Manager to ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability and aligned with current shop capabilities and timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Dispatch/Shipping Department to minimize logistical issues, reduce returns and damage, and optimize load planning.
  • Engage directly with field sales reps, project managers, and customers to resolve technical challenges and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Develop and implement best practices in design workflows, software utilization (MiTek), and quality assurance standards.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to designers, helping them grow in efficiency, accuracy, and innovation.
  • Monitor department performance, track project deliverables, and ensure timely, cost-effective execution across the board.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and supportive team culture consistent with the company’s family-owned business values.
  • Work with design software providers and IT staff to ensure optimal configuration, updates, and cross-department integration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the design-to-production lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a truss design leadership or management role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in MiTek software, with working knowledge of design optimization techniques and production constraints.
  • Deep understanding of construction documents, structural framing principles, and relevant building codes.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a design team in a high-volume production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interface effectively with sales teams, clients, engineers, and production staff.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with external design vendors and remote design coordination.

Why Join Our Client:

  • Be a key leader in a stable, growing, family-oriented company with a reputation for quality and service.
  • Lead high-impact, multifamily design projects from concept through delivery.
