Civil Estimator

(Complex Bridge and Railway Construction)

JOB DESCRIPTION

A dynamic contractor in the area is looking for a driven Civil Estimator as they continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have experience with Bridge and Railway working with complext Construction projects. They have a strong and highly skilled group focused on teamwork and collaboration. Their compensation package is competitive including bonuses and a 401K program.

Civil Estimator Duties:

  • Assess cost effectiveness of projects and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
  • Confer with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors and subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Participate in weekly Management staff meetings.
  • Visit project sites prior to bid and during construction.
  • Develop long-term plans and programs to evaluate work accomplishments.

Civil Estimator Skills and Requirements:

  • Position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry
  • +2 years experience as Estimator
  • Skilled in the following project delivery methods: Job Order Contracting, Design-Bid Build, and Construction Manager At Risk.
  • Knowledge of Bridge and Rail including installation and rehabilitation services
