Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation- San Diego, CA

A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong background in civil litigation, covering areas such as personal injury, education, and employment law. The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing skills and have substantial experience in law and motion practice, as well as in handling witness, party, and expert depositions. Some trial experience is preferred.

While most of the work will be performed in the office or in court, certain discovery projects may allow for remote work. Most attorneys are expected to be in the office or at meetings or court sites a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage heavy civil litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Handle depositions of witnesses, parties, and experts.
  • Oversee discovery processes, including document production and interrogatories.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings.
  • Model writing and practice to align with the firm's guidelines and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Proven experience in heavy civil litigation (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Experience with depositions and trial work.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
