Quality Control Inspector

(Steel Fabrication)

Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabricator seeking a Certified Welding Inspector!

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible to oversee the application of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program, including inspections, weld procedures, material receiving, audits, paperwork, working in a misc. Metals and Steel fabrication shop environment, being involved in 'Code Work' and auditing of all QC paperwork prior to submittal.

 

QC Inspector Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Check quality of fabricated members to assure that all products meet contract specifications, related codes, and quality standards.
  • Identify inspected members in accordance with Crystal Steel standards.
  • Ensure received materials, parts, and consumables meet all quality standards.
  • Participate in providing welder and fitting training.
  • Witness welder certification testing.
  • Record and maintain Quality Control (QC) logs.
  • Calibrate welding machines and QC tools.
  • Organize quality related processes such as drawing control.
  • Collaborate with production and management teams.
  • Participate in training for continued improvement of the QC team.
  • Participate in safety training.

QC Inspecor Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE CWI CERTIFICATION
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes and AISC Standards
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with structural steel fabrication
  • Ability to utilize Quality Control related tools
  • Ability to demonstrate and communicate the effectiveness and importance of safe work practices
  • A demonstrated understanding and commitment to safety and quality
