This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction and experience in alternative and collaborative delivery methods such as CM/GC, CMAR, Design-Build, or Progressive Design-Build. Reporting to the Alternative Delivery Manager, you will manage projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with owner expectations, contract specifications, and company standards. Provide construction expertise and innovation during the preconstruction/CM phase, while managing all aspects of the General Contractor (GC) phase, including construction execution, budget, and schedule, ensuring compliance with project contracts and owner goals.
Demonstrate strong experience in preconstruction planning and analysis, collaborating with owners to align project scope, decisions, and budget.
Develop and manage project schedules, work packages, procedures, staffing plans, and equipment resources to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
Review project contracts and supporting documentation for completeness, partnering with owners to resolve discrepancies, conflicts, or scheduling issues.
Oversee engineering and scheduling teams to identify and negotiate change orders, engaging the Alternative Delivery Manager as needed.
Prepare and present monthly cost and revenue forecasts and reports to company leadership.
Maintain effective relationships with supporting departments and project owners to align with the project work plan and payment schedule.
Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party stakeholders, including landowners, local businesses, and government agencies.
Promote and enforce safety protocols through weekly site safety checks, safety meetings, and support for internal and owner safety programs.
Review and approve staffing and equipment requirements to ensure efficient project execution.
Support project discovery efforts by leveraging relationships with owners and engineers to identify alternative delivery projects for pursuit.
Assist with procurement and proposal development for alternative delivery projects.
Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, particularly in CM/GC or collaborative delivery environments.
Highly skilled in identifying, tracking, and managing project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (data analysis and complex formulas).
Working knowledge of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar platforms.
Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, including engineering journals, financial reports, and legal contracts.
Skilled in responding to inquiries or change requests from subcontractors, management, regulatory agencies, and owners.
Capable of presenting complex information effectively to owners and public stakeholders in collaborative settings.
Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather and evaluate data, and draw valid conclusions.
Able to interpret complex technical instructions and apply them to abstract and concrete scenarios.
Strong knowledge of utilities, earthwork, and bridge construction processes.
Experience with CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) projects is highly preferred.
7+ years of experience in construction project management required.
5+ years of experience in managing personnel required.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Experience in CM/GC or heavy civil construction is a plus.
Starting salary: $125,000+, depending on experience.
