Steel Detailer / Checker – Large-Scale Structural Steel & Misc. Metals Fabrication

We’re seeking a highly skilled Steel Detailer/Checker to join our team and ensure the accuracy and quality of shop and erection drawings for complex structural steel and misc. metals projects. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, well-respected fabricator/erector known for delivering some of the most recognizable structures in the region.

As a Detailer/Checker, you’ll play a key role in reviewing and creating detailed drawings, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and upholding the highest standards of precision, efficiency, and constructability throughout the detailing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Create and revise shop and erection drawings using Tekla software.

  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to resolve design issues and maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Ensure all detailing meets fabrication and erection requirements for quality and constructability.

  • Maintain and improve detailing standards, templates, and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in structural steel or misc. metals detailing/checking

  • Proficiency with Tekla Structures or Advanced Steel

  • Strong understanding of fabrication and erection practices

  • Proven ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $75,000 – $90,000 (DOE)
