Account Manager Position Summary
Lead the management and development of multiple customers; oversee the organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation of signa’ manufacturing and installation projects with a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
Account Manager Job Duties
- Team Leadership & Development Manage a team of 3–5 project managers responsible for multiple customer accounts.
- Interview, select, and onboard new team members to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct periodic skill gap analyses and recommend training to strengthen capabilities.
- Perform mid-year and annual performance reviews, providing feedback and development plans.
Project & Account Oversight
- Oversee the assigned team of project managers executing customer projects from start to finish.
- Assists the Project Manager in troubleshooting and problem solving complicated site specific issues.
- Review customer quotes, purchase orders, change orders, and final billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with margin targets.
- Monitor financial and project progress reports to confirm projects stay within expected timelines and budgets.
- Oversee large PO approvals and address internal QC issues to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct weekly and monthly project debriefs with project managers and director to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Periodically, manage complex projects or projects of new customers to ensure successful onboarding of new customers and serve as an example for projects managers.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze internal KPIs, including On-Time Delivery, profit targets, and data integrity.
- Prepare and submit account budgets, progress updates, and cost-tracking reports for customers.
- Update customers’ sales forecasts based on developments during the year.
- Schedule and lead weekly customer project review meetings with team members.
- Set and manage weekly billing/project meetings to keep projects aligned with monthly forecasts.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for assigned customers, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Communicate regularly with customers via email, phone, and scheduled calls.
- Work with customers to secure additional opportunities, expand regional presence, and grow market share.
- Conduct quarterly Program Notes reviews to ensure accuracy of customer data.
Skill and Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in account management and sales, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Thorough understanding of ERP system
- Thorough understanding of the sales cycle: approach, qualification and sale finalization. – Do we need this?
- Proven experience in customer relationship management
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, strong presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of the sales cycle, including approach, qualification, agreement on need, selling our company, filling customer needs, getting commitment, and cementing the sale.
- Proven experience in projects’ management of complex projects and multiple projects concurrently.
- This position requires approximately 15% domestic travel with some overnight stays.
