Position: Title Attorney – Oil & Gas (Bakken Region)

Location: Remote

Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year (based on experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Title Attorney with a strong background in oil and gas law, particularly with proven experience in the Bakken region (North Dakota, Montana, Texas). This role is fully remote and ideal for a self-driven legal professional who excels in reviewing, drafting, and curating complex title opinions and curative documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and review original and supplemental title opinions (drilling, division order, acquisition)
• Analyze and interpret deeds, leases, assignments, and other instruments affecting surface and mineral title
• Identify title defects and recommend appropriate curative actions
• Collaborate with landmen, clients, and other attorneys to resolve title and ownership issues
• Maintain accurate and organized records of title documentation and client communications
• Provide legal advice related to oil and gas operations, leasehold interests, and surface rights

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• Minimum 2+ years of oil and gas title experience with emphasis on the Bakken region
• Deep understanding of state-specific title and property law in ND, MT, TX
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal oversight
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
