Project Executive – Commercial Construction

A highly respected Chicago area General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Executive to provide executive-level leadership across multiple commercial projects and teams. This firm is known for its strong client relationships, collaborative culture, and commitment to quality and innovation throughout the Southeast.

About the Role

The Project Executive will serve as the senior leader responsible for the overall success of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, financial objectives, and operational excellence. This is a key leadership role overseeing project teams, client relationships, and business development efforts, while driving company standards for safety, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight and strategic direction for multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and proactive communication.

  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

  • Partner with preconstruction and estimating teams to develop scopes, budgets, and risk strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and client expansion.

  • Represent the company in business development and community engagement efforts.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction management with a reputable general contractor

  • Proven track record managing projects $20M+ and leading teams through complex build environments.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
