Remote Business Development Representative – Logistics & Supply Chain

Location: Remote (Port of Virginia)

A rapidly growing Transportation Company is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive expansion, build strong client relationships, and accelerate revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives.

This individual will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding services beyond the Mid-Atlantic region, and delivering customer-focused logistics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in warehousing, transloading, drayage, OTR transportation, and project-based logistics services.
  • Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline through networking, cold outreach, email campaigns, and participation in industry events.
  • Conduct market research to analyze customer needs, competitive trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Research and identify potential acquisition targets aligned with company growth goals.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with both prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional service delivery.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals, pricing models, and service agreements.
  • Contribute to the development and tracking of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and client interactions within CRM systems.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other professional networking events.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals within logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage, warehousing, transloading, drayage, and project freight operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Commission: Competitive, performance-based sales commissions
  • Benefits Package: Comprehensive health benefits, retirement plan, and paid time off
