About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring a safe working environment across all project sites, reinforcing our strong safety culture, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. The Senior Safety Specialist will serve as a trusted advisor to field teams, superintendents, project managers, and leadership, while mentoring junior staff and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, policies, and procedures across multiple project sites.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
Provide ongoing training, toolbox talks, and mentorship to employees and subcontractors to foster a strong safety culture.
Stay current with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations and standards.
Collaborate with project leadership to integrate safety planning into preconstruction and project execution.
Act as a subject matter expert in safety management systems, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5–7 years of safety experience within the construction industry; general contractor experience highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental health, and industry best practices.
CSP, CHST, or related professional safety certifications strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex safety challenges across multiple projects.
