Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Bridgeport, CT | Full-Time | Onsite

A growing Connecticut law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with approximately 3–5 years of experience to join its expanding practice in Bridgeport.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants hands-on litigation experience, meaningful courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to take ownership of a growing caseload. The practice has a strong focus on personal injury, while remaining open to attorneys with experience in other areas of litigation.

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will join a busy litigation practice and handle matters throughout Connecticut. This position offers substantial responsibility and the opportunity to work on cases from initial intake through resolution.

Personal injury experience is strongly preferred, but attorneys with backgrounds in medical malpractice, probate, criminal law, or general civil litigation are encouraged to apply if they have strong litigation skills and an interest in expanding their practice.

This is a particularly good fit for an attorney who enjoys being in the courtroom and wants a role where they can hit the ground running and gain practical experience rather than remain in a purely research-and-support position.

What You'll Do

• Handle litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Develop case strategy and work closely with senior attorneys
• Manage an active caseload and associated deadlines
• Communicate directly with clients and provide regular case updates
• Prepare cases for litigation and resolution
• Travel as needed for court appearances throughout Connecticut

Ideal Candidate

• Approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience
• Active Connecticut Bar admission and in good standing
• Strong preference for personal injury experience
• Experience in civil litigation, medical malpractice, probate, criminal law, or another litigation-focused practice will also be considered
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Confident courtroom presence and oral advocacy abilities
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Professional demeanor and sound judgment
• Willingness to appear in court whenever needed

New York Bar admission is a plus but is not required.
