Job Title: Architectural Designer – Residential Design-Build (Leadership Role)

As we scale, we’re investing in our internal design capabilities and are urgently seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Designer to lead and elevate our design studio.


Position Overview

This is a senior-level leadership position within our organization. You will be responsible for establishing architectural design standards, implementing scalable systems, and building out a high-performance design department. We’re looking for someone who is equally passionate about design excellence, technical precision, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of residential architectural design, from conceptual planning through construction documents.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, project directors, and estimators to bring design visions to life.

  • Create, document, and enforce internal drafting and presentation standards.

  • Manage and mentor current and future design team members, including remote or offshore staff.

  • Introduce scalable design workflows, leveraging the right tools and systems to support growth.

  • Support design presentations with high-quality 3D models and visual mockups.

  • Coordinate structural considerations and code compliance into all designs.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in residential architectural design; remodeling experience strongly preferred.

  • Leadership: Proven experience leading a design department or team; people management skills are essential.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong skills in AutoCAD or Revit (required)

    • Willingness to learn Chief Architect (training provided)

    • 3D modeling proficiency required

    • Solid structural understanding of residential construction

  • Communication: Confident working directly with clients, collaborating across departments, and presenting design ideas clearly.

  • Standards & Systems: Experience creating drawing standards and implementing systems in a high-growth environment.

  • Work Style: Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and organized; thrives in both independent and team settings.
