Structural Steel/Miscellaneous Metals Project Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ

GPAC is partnering with a leading steel erection and construction firm known for successfully executing complex commercial and industrial projects across the region. With decades of experience in steel erection and field installation, this company is seeking a skilled Project Manager with expertise in structural steel and miscellaneous metals to join their growing team.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years in structural steel erection or related construction project management.
Software Proficiency: Skilled in Bluebeam; knowledge of project management software is a plus.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage field crews, equipment, and subcontractors on active jobsites.
Field Coordination: Experience working closely with site supervisors, safety personnel, and logistics teams.
Initiative: Strong sense of ownership and accountability for project outcomes.
Relationship Building: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to foster strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the erection and installation of structural and miscellaneous steel components on active construction sites.
Develop project plans, manage schedules, and ensure all milestones are met.
Review and interpret erection drawings, shop drawings, and field changes.
Monitor safety compliance and coordinate with safety personnel to ensure all site activities meet OSHA and company standards.
Track labor, equipment, and material costs to ensure projects stay within budget.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the company, clients, and subcontractors.
Coordinate crane operations, delivery logistics, and erection sequencing.
Essential Functions:
Strong understanding of erection drawings, bolting/welding procedures, and field modifications.
Field-based project management or superintendent experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple crews across various job sites.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Capable of resolving field issues efficiently with minimal disruption to schedules.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Able to perform under pressure and in fast-paced environments.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000 (negotiable based on experience)
