Summary of Duties: The Manager of Quality willdevelop and oversee quality management systems in compliance with AS 9100.
Specific Duties: Provides overall leadership and management of all aspects of company and supplier quality for continuous process improvement and high-quality output. Directs operations of Quality Department including quality levels of incoming materials, manufactured components and finished products. Establishes overall quality levels and specifications; conducts audits of systems and products to assure compliance with corporate, customer and industry requirements. Supervises quality assurance personnel. Implement and execute all AS 9100 procedures to identify and drive resolution of process inefficiencies, product quality issues, and vendor and customer issues. Manager is responsible for maintaining AS 9100 training. Proactively participates in AS 9100 management review pertaining to all respective department responsibilities. Specific Tasks Provides leadership for the function. Holds regularly scheduled meetings that provide feedback on progress of operations. Continuously coaches and develops employees. Conducts timely performance reviews. Develops, implements, and monitors career path planning for employees.
Level and Complexity: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which may affect one or more functional areas. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules. Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, suppliers and/or functional peer group managers. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, suppliers or customers and the company. Manages through subordinate supervisors the coordination of activities of sections/departments with responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods and employees. Complex decision making required which have major consequences to Company’s customer satisfaction, stability, profitability, and reputation. Works independently as needed. Required: B.S. Business, Engineeringor related field. Not less than ten years previous experience. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Analytical problem solving required. Experience in Total Quality Management and process improvement. IPC Certifications a plus. ADA Requirements: Read, write and understand English. Attention to detail. Able to drive to and visit customers. Basic math skills. Able to use keyboard and computer Literate.
