Remote Project Manager – Commercial Construction Startup

Position Overview

The Remote Project Manager will oversee commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, working remotely with periodic travel to job sites. Travel typically includes short trips — a couple of days at a time — to project locations in Idaho, Wisconsin, or Michigan, depending on assignment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys autonomy, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats while helping the company build its foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from planning to completion

  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and field teams

  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and documentation

  • Monitor site progress through virtual tools + in-person site visits as needed

  • Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications

  • Identify risks, resolve challenges, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders

  • Support startup systems, processes, and efficiencies as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–7+ years of experience as a Project Manager or APM in commercial construction

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and documentation

  • Proficiency with common construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc. preferred)

  • Willingness to travel for short trips (ID, WI, MI) based on project needs

  • Startup-minded: adaptable, resourceful, proactive, and collaborative
