Legal Assistant – Defense Litigation (4+ Years Experience)

Our established defense firm is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant with a minimum of 4 years of defense litigation experience to join our fast-paced team. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can provide high-level support to attorneys handling complex defense litigation matters. The ideal Legal Assistant is proactive, dependable, and committed to excellence in every aspect of their work within a busy defense litigation practice.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of defense litigation experience
  • Exceptional proofreading and transcription skills
  • Ability to type a minimum of 65 wpm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe
  • Experience with CaseMap, TextMap, or similar document management tools is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • A self-starter with a willingness to support the team as needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Maintain and organize electronic file databases
  • Manage calendaring/docketing of all case deadlines
  • Process mail and coordinate incoming/outgoing documents
  • Submit filings in state and federal courts accurately and on time
  • Provide reliable, professional support to attorneys in an active defense litigation environment
