About the Opportunity:
A respected mid-size defense firm in Austin, TX is hiring an experienced Legal Assistant to support its long-established workers’ compensation practice. With over 75 years of combined experience among its attorneys, the firm offers highly tailored defense strategies to insurance carriers and employers across Texas.
Salary at Austin market rate of $50K-$70K, DOE
Performance-based bonus structure

What You’ll Do:
Support attorneys on workers’ compensation defense cases
Draft and manage legal filings, discovery, and correspondence
Track deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
Coordinate with insurance carriers, providers, and the internal team
Organize case files, records, and relevant documentation
Requirements:
Prior experience in Texas workers’ compensation law
Highly organized, reliable, and proactive
Comfortable working in a low-pressure, casual environment
Familiarity with defense-side processes preferred
