Preconstruction Manager

One of the Southeast's most prominent general contractors is looking for a talented Preconstruction Manager to join their Atlanta area team and help drive early project success. They are known for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, education, office, mixed-use, industrial and more. 

Position Summary

The Preconstruction Manager will play a critical role in project planning, budgeting, and early-stage coordination with owners, architects, and engineers. This individual will lead the preconstruction process from concept through contract award, ensuring that each project is set up for success in execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preconstruction phase for multiple commercial construction projects.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams to define scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates, including quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Conduct value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Develop and manage preconstruction schedules and logistics plans.
• Lead bid solicitation and subcontractor engagement.
• Support the hand-off from preconstruction to project management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating for commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and market conditions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in estimating and scheduling software (e.g., Bluebeam, Timberline, Microsoft Project, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
