We are partnered with a fast-growing steel delivery firm that's seeking a Senior Structural Steel Detailer with deep Tekla Structures expertise and proven leadership capability. The ideal candidate will take a lead role in coordinating detailing efforts, mentoring team members, and delivering high-quality structural models and drawings for major building projects.
This is a remote position, open to candidates residing in the following U.S. states (WA, OR, ID, NV, AZ, UT, MT, WY, CO, NM,TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND).
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate and detailed 3D models and shop drawings using Tekla Structures
Lead and mentor a team of detailers; review work for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and other stakeholders to maintain project schedule and quality
Manage detailing workflows for large-scale commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects
Identify and resolve design issues proactively
Ensure adherence to company standards, industry codes, and project specifications
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures
Demonstrated experience working on large-scale building projects
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing detailers
Thorough knowledge of steel fabrication and erection methods
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Must reside in one of the U.S. states listed above
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating with BIM teams or working in a BIM-driven environment
Familiarity with related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, SDS/2)
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead detailer role
