Job Description

We are partnered with a fast-growing steel delivery firm that's seeking a Senior Structural Steel Detailer with deep Tekla Structures expertise and proven leadership capability. The ideal candidate will take a lead role in coordinating detailing efforts, mentoring team members, and delivering high-quality structural models and drawings for major building projects.

This is a remote position, open to candidates residing in the following U.S. states (WA, OR, ID, NV, AZ, UT, MT, WY, CO, NM,TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND).

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and detailed 3D models and shop drawings using Tekla Structures

  • Lead and mentor a team of detailers; review work for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and other stakeholders to maintain project schedule and quality

  • Manage detailing workflows for large-scale commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects

  • Identify and resolve design issues proactively

  • Ensure adherence to company standards, industry codes, and project specifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures

  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale building projects

  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing detailers

  • Thorough knowledge of steel fabrication and erection methods

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Must reside in one of the U.S. states listed above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating with BIM teams or working in a BIM-driven environment

  • Familiarity with related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, SDS/2)

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead detailer role
