Bookkeeper/Project Accountant
GPAC is currently assisting a growing and stable client with their search for a Bookkeeper/Project Accountant. This individual will be responsible for accounting operations and more within the company.
Bookkeeper/Accountant Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing, and coordinating accounting operational functions
- Annual budgeting and forecasting
- Month end closing responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statements
- Work with auditors
- Work closely with leadership team
- Ensure compliance
Bookkeeper/Accountant Background Requirements:
- B.S. degree in accounting, finance, or related field, OR
- Credentials of a CPA (preferred)
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience
- Experience working in Construction world is preferred
- B.S. degree in accounting, finance, or related field, OR
- Credentials of a CPA (preferred)
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience
- Experience working in Construction world is preferred
- Strong financial management and business acumen
- Current experience in Quickbooks desktop—not online
- Texas Sales Tax—understanding how to charge customers and filing the reports online with the Comptroller
- Paychex payroll experience
- An understanding of AIA pay applications and Cost Accounting
- Competence in reading and understanding financial statements: Profit and Loss and Balance sheetA/R and A/P experience
- Ability and willingness to follow directions
- Gets along well with others and has a pleasant demeanor
- The company needs someone who is organized, stays organized and doesn’t work in a “mess”
