Job Description

The Industrial Engineer II shall provide industrial engineering services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) to help ensure that effective and cost-efficient production and management control systems are developed and maintained to improve productivity and reduce costs. These services may include tasks related to the following:

  • Process Analysis: This includes process mapping, value stream mapping, planning, design, and improvement of the integrated systems used by employees, processes, organizational structures, facilities, materials, and equipment used by the FAALC. Services may include providing periodic status of efforts and making recommendations to supported teams and/or managers
  • Data Analytics: Services may also include computational analysis and development of tools to automate business processes, data collection and data dashboards or data displays to facilitate improved Team and Group efficiencies
  • Ergonomics: The Contractor may also provide ergonomic analysis of work tasks to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and best practices to promote safety and health of personnel. These may include but not be limited to evaluating best practices for climbing, crane usage, fork truck driving, electrical and mechanical shop processes, warehousing duties, and working in extreme environmental conditions
  • Work Breakdown and Resource Analysis: The Contractor may provide support for work break down definition and analysis, resource leveling analysis of existing and new positions and basic task analysis. This may include analysis of grade level determination and skills requirements at various grade levels
  • Perform engineering studies related to testing, modification, design, monitoring, remote control, interfacing, and other requirements on equipment. The deliverables may include an engineering report and cost estimate package for design, procurement, installation, testing, and evaluation of prototype systems
  • Provide the technical expertise, materials, and fabrication effort to design, install, test, and evaluate equipment
  • Provide hardware and software documentation, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to implement proposed changes to equipment on a national level
  • Provide technical support of the FAALC test bed facilities located at MMAC as required
  • Provide technical support to field organizations through telephone assistance or onsite assistance. Provide equipment installation, and other maintenance related support for Headquarters National Airway System, ATO Service Areas programs and projects, and other Government agencies requiring FAALC support
  • Provide technical and logistical support for new systems acquisitions by participating in systems level integration, validation, certification of equipment and other acquisition support as required
  • Provide technical and logistics support for configuration audit management and provisioning efforts associated with supply support objectives
  • Provide complete drafting services in support of the FAALC including operations and maintenance of the drafting file system, reproduction of drawings, preparation of engineering drawings, electronic artwork and electronic media
  • Complete other duties as assigned
