Structural Steel Detailer/Checker

(Structural Steel/Misc. Metal Fabrication)

JOB DESCRIPTION

A structural steel detailing firm in the area is looking for someone with your experience. They are continuing to grow and are looking to add to their team. They have a strong and highly skilled group focused on teamwork and collaboration. The ideal candidate is capable of creating detailed fabrication drawings for structural steel components from architectural and structural design plans. Experience using 2D and 3D designing software is highly preferred. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of detailing design standards and guidelines for AISC steel construction.

Individual must have structural steel detailing experience checking drawings (E-sheets & shop details) that are extracted from a 3D model using Tekla and SDS/2. Individuals must be able to understand client standards, specifications and interpret Architectural and structural design drawings for each individual project.

Steel Detailer Requirements:

• Experience checking using Tekla or SDS/2 and at least 3 years of Tekla or SDS/2 experience.
• Strong PC, Microsoft Office, and general technology competency
• Attention to detail is required.
• Ability to adapt to an environment and work well with others.
• Ability to learn document flow and follow detailed instructions.
• Interpret design drawings, specs, and other information to understand the project.
• Interact with other internal staff / management to ensure full customer support. 

Steel Detailer Salary:

• $60,000 - $75,000+ depending on experience
