Job Title: Outside Sales Representative

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of outside sales experience in the steel, metals, or building materials industries. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, developing new business, and driving sales growth within an assigned territory.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your territory

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, fabricators, and other customers

  • Promote and sell steel, metals, or building material products to meet customer needs

  • Prepare quotes, follow up on orders, and manage customer accounts

  • Work closely with internal teams on pricing, inventory, and deliveries

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience in steel, metals, or building materials (required)

  • Strong understanding of products and customer needs in the construction or industrial markets

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own schedule

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally or regionally as needed


Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 (depending on experience)

  • Monthly Commission: 2% on collected sales

  • Annual Bonus Commission: Additional 0.75% on annual sales over $2.5 million

  • Benefits: health insurance, PTO, vehicle/fuel allowance, 401k
